The Pride of the Lake Marching Band had a truly transforming year. We started our marching season off with a new addition to our staff - Mr. Dominic Zanaboni; associate director of bands. Mr. Z as the students refer to him, brings with him a large knowledge base that is only matched by his enthusiasm for the program. You are encouraged to read Mr. Zanaboni's biography in the About Us section on this website or by clicking the link below, you will be impressed.
About Mr. Dominic Zanaboni
Onto our transforming Marching Show - It seemed as if there was no stopping The Pride of the Lake Marching Band in 2019 in Class AA. We started our competition season in Sullivan, Missouri finishing 1st. This competition would prove to set the tone for the rest of the season, unknowing to us at that time. We then traveled to Iowa to compete at the University of Northern Iowa at the Bands of America Regional in their first competition at this location. There the band placed 1st in class AA and took the Outstanding General Effect Caption during Prelims. Then placing 3rd in all classes combined during finals, competing against AAAA through A bands. After our trip to Iowa it was onto Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. While the weather proved to be problematic during the prelim award ceremony, we were happy to receive 1st place in class AA and Outstanding Music Performance. After our finals performance we were awarded 2nd place in all classes and the coveted Outstanding Music Performance award. With 3 very successful competitions under our belts we had very little time to prepare for our last competition of the season and largest...Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional. With so many bands competing from so many States it is a very fast paced competition taking 2 full days to complete with a new band taking the field every 15 minutes. At this competition the Pride of the Lake Marching Band was very fortunate to place 1st in class AA during prelims and taking Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding Visual Performance.  We were one of the lucky 14 bands to have a score high enough to place us into finals to compete among all classes AAAA through A. In finals your Pride of the Lake Marching Band tied for 9th place, but finished 10th due to lower GE score!

The Cammies as we are called around the country have quite literally got people asking where Camdenton is. Placing in the top 30 bands among the 87,000 marching bands in the country tends to get people talking and asking questions. The Cammies finished the season as the top AA band in the State of Missouri and second in the country behind a private performing arts school. It's a GREAT day to be a LAKER!

Our band students enjoy many memories that will last them the rest of their lives. From band camp starting in the summer and running until its cold. All the wonderful food our chuck wagon crew makes for the band members and staff. This year the big hit was the hamburgers and hot dogs, who would have guessed. Lets not forget the tacos, yummy! The loading crew beat their all time record of loading the truck in a record breaking time, winning them a pizza party. Many life long friendships are forged and life lessons learned in this band program. Not a single person would change it for anything in the world. All the hard work, sweat and tears are worth it. The metals that we received this year were just the icing on the cake for an already wonderful season.
